ความเป็นมา             ในปี 1968ผู้นำคริสตจักรไทยจำนวนหนึ่งได้เข้าร่วมประชุมเพื่อการประกาศใหญ่ ในทวีปเอเชีย  ณ ประเทศสิงคโปร์    และได้รับความประทับใจและการทรงนำให้จัดการ ประชุมใหญ่เพื่อการประกาศ      พระกิตติคุณในประเทศไทยขึ้นเป็นครั้งแรกในปี 1970 ณ สวางคนิวาส  โดยมีผู้เข้าร่วมประชุมจาก       คณะนิกายต่าง ๆ ประมาณ 300 คน จากการประชุมครั้งนี้ได้ก่อให้เกิดหน่วยงานองค์การขึ้นหลายแห่ง     ซึ่งทำหน้าที่เป็นกลาง ประสานงานกับคณะต่าง ๆ อาทิ กรรมการเพิ่มพูนคริสตจักร ยุวคริสเตียนแห่งประเทศไทย ฯลฯ            ต่อมาในปี 1978 ได้มีการจัดประชุมใหญ่เพื่อ  การประกาศพระกิตติคุณทั่วประเทศ ครั้งที่ 2 ขึ้นที่สมาคม Y.M.C.A. เชียงใหม่ และต่อมาในปี 1988 การประชุมเพื่อการประกาศ พระกิตติคุณทั่วประเทศ ครั้งที่ 3 ก็เกิดขึ้น ณ คริสตจักรวัฒนาและโรงเรียนวัฒนาวิทยาลัย ระหว่างวันที่ 2 - 5 พฤษภาคม          ผลประการหนึ่งของการประชุมเพื่อการประกาศพระกิตติคุณทั่วประเทศ ครั้งที่ 3 หรือคองเกรส 3 คือ การเริ่มต้นบทบาทอย่างเป็นทางการของกรรมการประสานงาน| คริสตจักรโปรเตสแตนท์แห่งประเทศไทย (Thailand Protestant Churches Coordination Committee)         ภายใต้กรรมการโปรเตสแตนท์แห่งประเทศไทย (กปท.) ได้จัดให้จัดการประชุมใหญ่ เพื่อการประกาศพระกิตติคุณทั่วประเทศ ทุก ๆ 5 ปี ต่อครั้ง   โดยกำหนดสัปดาห์แรก ของเดือนพฤษภาคม เป็นช่วงเวลาของการประชุม ครั้งที่ 4    จัดขึ้น ปี 1993 ครั้งที่ 5 ปี 1999 ครั้งที่ 6 ปี 2004 เป็นการฉลอง 175 ปี พันธกิจโปรเตสแตนท์ในประเทศไทย พร้อมการประชุมเพื่อการประกาศพระกิตติคุณ History           In 1968 Christian leaders from Thailand attended the Asian Congresson Evangelism in Singapore. They were so impressed with the meeting in Singapore, thus they trusted in the Lord to hold such a meeting in Thailand.  In 1970, over 300 Christians from different denominations in Thailand, attended the first Congress on Evangelism in Thailand was held at “Sawankaniwaas”.  From this meeting, many groups were created to facilitate the objectives to make the vision for Thailand a reality, for example, the action group to increase the number of Churches in Thailand and Youth Ministry group.                    1978, the second Congress on Evangelism was held at Y.M.C.A. in the City of Chiangmai. In 1998, the third Congress on Evangelism was held at Wattana church and Wattana Whitayalay School in Bangkok, from May 2nd to 5th.           One outcome of the third Congress on Evangelism (Congress III), was the formation of the Thailand Protestant Churches Coordination Committee (TPCCC).           Under TPCCC, it was decided that a Congress on Evangelism in Thailand would be held every five years, during the first week of May. The fourth Congress on Evangelism was held in 1993, the fifth was held in 1999 and the sixth was held in 2004. The sixth Congress on Evangelism was also an opportunity to celebrate the 175th year of the establishment of the Protestant Church in Thailand.
